24_Hour Helpline Image

The bulk of Dial Help's work is accomplished through the Crisis Unit with its 24-hour Helpline, providing crisis intervention, information, and referrals every day of the year. The Helpline may also be the entry point to access victim services and family support services. A free service to all who call the line from across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, the Helpline responded to 30,160 requests for assistance last year. Most of these requests for assistance came from the most marginalized members of our society: the mentally ill, the lonely, the abused or victimized, and those with substance abuse problems.

Dial Help’s Crisis Unit is staffed by professional, trained employees who are available to provide walk-in assistance to community members in need of crisis intervention, information, or referrals 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
